I think they'd be a great deal funnier if the creepy king would talk, but just standing there and staring is scary.

I think that's part of what makes them so funny to us. We get excited when we hear there's a new Burger King commercial out!

Well, this morning we noticed they were putting something inflatable up on the roof of their building. Guess what it is? You got it!
So now "The King" is staring at us every day and it CREEPS ME OUT! I keep looking out of my office window, expecting to see this inflatable king looking in on me, just like in the commercial!
.

You should go over and poke him with a needle and put a slow leak in him. No one would ever know. Eeew it would be SUPER creepy if you poked a hole in him and he was still standing the next day

I was going to ask if anyone realized the Hootie song was a rewrite of "Big Rock Candy Mountain". I LOVE the original so I find the rewrite a little annoying.

As for the King? Yeah, he's creepy, it's the permanent expression on his face. I think he wouldn't be quite so bad if his mouth was closed. I like Jack for Jack in the Box, but not this guy. The commercials do have a sense of humor in them, though (like the animals flocking to him), but the character is so creepy I think most people don't see the humor.

The dude reminds me of my choral teacher in high school. We did the "Madrigal" thing, where the chorus dresses as a 16th century royal court... only our teacher instead of standing in front directing dressed up, too, and took his place in the center of the row as the "king". He kind of looked like that! LOL

Oh, that's part of his creepiness Sam! He doesn't talk or anything. He's just there with that maniacal grin on his face...*shiver*. They have several commercials, one where he's in this guy's bed when he wakes up, one where he's at someone's door. He's a stalker is what he is! *shivers again*

It is a BRILLIANT marketing advertising ploy. See you have so many people talking about it, free advertising from Jay Leno and you even have people from across the globe in New Zealand wanting to take a look at your advertisement.

True enough! I'm sure they knew he'd creep people out when they started this campaign. They've certainly gotten their money's worth out of that big, dopey, grinning head!

and I think there was also one where he's just staring in someone's window too!

LOL!!! I finally saw a commercial with the Burger "King"!
Some guy opens his window while eating some breakfast sandwich to find the king staring right at him outside the window.
The king does look kind of creepy, but not as bad as I imagined when I first read this thread about a month ago.

You know, McDonalds has this cool, happy, friendly clown guy, and Burger king has this scary man in a mask who is always smiling, and is someone who when you look at him and look away, and look back, eh will be instantly 50 feet closer.

Not to mention the "tender crisp bacon cheddar ranch" song is bewitched with an evil curse type thing..

because I swear, I could not get that song out of my head until I bought a TCBCR!!!!! O_O and it didnt taste good!!!

Know what is good though? A club chalupa from taco bell, and a Caramel apple empanada
My mom called it an Inpinata!!!

oh and the quizno's sub things are called spongemonkies, and they sing the song "i like the moon" on rathergood.com
