I have two 9-week old kittens...both born premature. I have bottled raised them (orphaned) and they now eat kitten food like little pigs. Actually, they eat anything I put in front of them like little pigs. All good. One of them is so much thinner than the other. Any suggestions of a high-caloric but nutrionally sound food for him? Would like to see him catch-up to his sister in weight.

Thanks in advance.

My kitten was put on Select Development. Its for pregnent cats and kittens. She was also put on Prozyme. That also helps them absorb the nutrients in the food. You can get them both from your vet.

I would just feed the thinner kitten more often - get an extra 1 to 2 feedings in, even if they are more snack size...use the kitten food you are using, or any good quality kitten food....all quality kitten foods are higher in calories, fat and protein than a "for adult" food, and I think more then the 'for all life stages' foods too. For this one, I'd not use a 'for all life stages food' but a true, formulated for kittens food (which it sounds like you are doing).

I don't feel that I can advise re digestive enzymes or similar supplements, but I'd ask my vet if they felt that would be a good idea, and what they'd recommend
