Check this out, really puts things into perspective and it makes ya think:

Diet Snapple
16 oz $1.29 ........ $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea
16 oz $1.19 ...........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade
20 oz $1.59 ...... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray
16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid
12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil
6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol
4 oz $3.85 ..... $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout
7 oz $1.39 ......... .. $25.42 per gallon

Scope
1.5 oz $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water
9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon!
$21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Heaven forbid, Pepto Bismol or Nyquil.

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump.

I agree 100% and have gotten in quite a few online heated discussions over the pettyness of our gas complaints.

Reminds me of when I was courting Betty and I wanted to buy her some "White Shoulders" perfume, and when the lady told me the price, I blurted, "Gosh, am I buying gold ?" Being used to such, she calmly replied, "No sir, but you aren't buying gasoline, either"

Maybe someday the US will convert to the metric system...
It's honestly a lot easier. A gallon is a little less than four liters.

Hi everyone:

You guys are lucky regarding gas prices! Germany's gas prices (regular unleaded - 91 octane) translate into $ 5,59 per U.S. Gallon. Reason being is our greedy government: Gas tax, VAT (also on the gas tax --> tax on tax) and an extra tax called "Eco- surcharge". Do they use that money (gas tax and vehicle tax) for the benefit of vehicle drivers? Far less than half of the vehicle- related revenue is used for related expenses. City streets are deteriorating, some are just "pothole avenues". Explanation: "We just haven't got the money repair the streets properly" What they do are some quickie repair jobs that won't survive next winter.

Hmm, that got me to thinking, I'm paying $16.00 a gallon for CatSip! At .99 cents per 8 oz. box, thats expensive kitty milk! Mine are addicted to it, so I'll keep buying it.

I'm still thankful gas is no more than $2.30 here, for the moment. (been keeping topped up just in case this Saudi thing takes a turn)

Just one correction for the list, tho

Wite-out:
0.7 oz - $1.39 so that's $254.20/gal!!!!!!!

that's some mighty spendy smelly stuff!!!

In the UK gas prices are even higher than in Germany or France because of govt taxes. I just love it when I go to the US and fill up a hire car! Here in Bosnia it is cheaper - around 78 marks per litre = 25 pence = £1 per gallon = $1.90. But it is creeping up.
