Wy does my kitten do this??

I have a 10 week old kitten and I got him wen he was 8 weeks. I have 3 other cats who are 1 year old to almost 2 years. My kitten is always trying to get milk from one of my MALE cats!! He does it all the time. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What does this mean?

Yes, kittens will try to suckle on a variety of things. Dogs, male cats, you name it. It's probably safe to assume it is a sign of affection.

If this behavior is a huge disruption, you can try buying the kitten a Snugglepet so he can have a surrogate mama for a few months until he grows up.

When I was younger, our cat Patch would always kneed on Tigger. Both kitties were also male cats.

Tigger was a very gentle, caring kitty and I think Patch felt safe around him and drawn to his sweet nature and because of this would try to kneed and nurse on him - even though it wasn't possible

Tigger would just lay there and let Patch do it. I think Patch just found comfort in him... So I think your kitty is fine.

My kitten Rambo suckles on me....whenever he's trying to fall asleep. He hasn't tried suckling on the older cat. I've taken to bringing on old shirt i've worn to bed so that i can put him on that when he wants to suckle so i can sleep. It sometimes works! The vet told me that he might always do it. If your other cats don't mind...all the better.

When Bogart was a baby, he would suckle off of Max (a male Manx). Max didn't mind, probably enjoyed it, and in fact over time started to lactate. Yes - males will lactate if stimulated long enough. Max and Bogart were very closely bonded their entire lives - it probably started with the suckling. If it bothers you, then separate them. But if they are both enjoying it, don't intervene - they will work it out between the 2 of them.
