I just posted about Sammy's eating dilemma but here is another dilemma I can't quite figure out. I have 8 cats, 4 females, 4 males. All neutered and spayed. My latest rescue is Mattie. she is about 10 months old. Mattie and Sammy play just like kittens(he is just over 1yr)but for some reason Sammy is always stalking Tess who does not want to play or have anything to do with him but he is intent on catching her. I can't figure out if he wants to fight with her or just play..it does not appear that he wants to play with her because he plays differently with Mattie. Sometimes it is like having two flying missiles sailing through the air, knocking everything in sight around. I have tried the water bottle, timeout in another room and nothing seems to be working, any suggestions??? HELP

I have two cats that are always going at each other. Nothing serious, but no playing either. I ended up taking an empty soda pop can, filling it with small ball bearings- I taped the hole shut and when they get going, I give that can a real good shake. You don't fill the can all the way, about half way, you can use gravel, or marbles, or whatever but something that makes noise and gets their attention. Works for me!

Thanks Hissy-I'll give it a try but I have to tell you that Sammy has no fear..even follows the Vacuum Cleaner when all the rest of the cats run and hide..I love him very much but he is the only cat that can make me see red sometimes, other times he is so lovable and cuddly and likes to sleep near me..I quess there is always a "Denis the Menance" type cat in the world somewhere--LOL

Sorry, I really don't. I have the same problem with just 2 cats. I have tried just about everything and they still do it if they get to close to each other. They don't draw blood or anything, so I just leave them be. I am hoping the one gets tired of making her mad. If it comes to it, I will just seperate them when I am not home. With 11 cats, I am just lucky it's only 2 of them..

You know, I swear they are smarter than they let on. My Sebastion gets right up to Ariel because he knows it bothers her. He never does anything, just sits and stares at her until she is all worked up. I walk over to him, point and say enough...so he goes upstairs. I really think he is doing it because he is a man!!! Hopefully over time, they will just forget about this silly ritual!!
