It was great. Better the previous two, still some dialouge that needs to be worked on, which is typical Lucas. Ocassionally I was looking at my watching, okay maybe about 3 times, but some parts drag, but what movie doesn't? This movie met my expectations, infact better then my expectations. Only disappointed in a couple of scenes, but I won't ruin it since many peopl in here haven't seen it. One thing I will say though is, if you haven't, watch Clone Wars from Cartoon Network. The beginning of the movie directly picks up from where CW stopped so ther eis some of the storyline that the movie does refer too. Other then that, I give the film an A-. Oh my top 3 star wars are: Empire, Hope and Sith... not bad eh? (oh forgive the type-o's, its 330am when I typed this)
Good news, I might try to see it tomorrow. I am still partial to the first one even though it's sappy, maybe cause I was a kid when I saw it...dunno. Empire is definitely the best technically etc.

I saw it last night too, with Earl.

Quite frankly, the dialog in places sucked. The scenes with Padme and Anakin were like Frodo and Sam taking the Ring to Mt. Doom...You know it's crucial to the plot, but gosh can we get to the next scene already? I wouldn't say it's Natalie Portman's finest acting, but you can only work with the dialog you're given.

Overall, though, it was a good movie. It answered most of the questions. It showed the decent to evil can be paved with good, although naive, intentions. And it does lead right up to A New Hope.

You mean Frodo and Sam and "the strawberries...the strawberries..."

I just saw it. I don't want to give out any spoilers, except to say, it was DANG exciting, the duels were awesome, and Hayden certainly nails it on the head this time in regards to showing the downward spiral of a hero to the dark side.

The only disappointment I had was Padma (Natalie Portman). Lucas totally fouled up and there is now a gigantic plot hole, having to do with Leia in Return of the Jedi. It doesn't bother me too much simply because the rest of the movie fell into place so well, and I love the Star Wars universe, so I won't pick it apart!

There was a scene for Yoda which had the whole theater clapping... FUNNY... he is one bad, little green man.

And ObiWan, WOW. I liked Ewan McGregor to begin with because he's got a smart-as$ side to him, and he also gets to shine. The duel between him and Anakin at the end had me edge of my seat!

I took half-day off work to go see it, and boy am I happy I did! I arrived 2 hours pre-showtime, and I was 20th in line. The people were dressed up (Obi Wan was there, and a gal dressed as Padme... I did a Leia hairstyle myself) and everyone was so pumped up & friendly. I am also going to go see it in the theater again with my dad, and once I can finally talk my daughter into seeing it, I'm taking her!

I rank it up there with Empire... Empire was my favorite, then A New Hope, then Return of the Jedi. But now Revenge of the Sith is my second favorite. And the reason for that is, the lame, thin and totally transparent love story between Anakin & Padme cannot hold a candle to Han & Leia's relationship.

Yeah, I don't get that either. I even had it in my head last night prior to seeing it, and I don't see the connection. But I guess if you're trying to see the connection between the Emperor and Bush, if you already see Bush in that light anyway, you can. I didn't see it that way...I still see a sci-fi fantasy movie, with shades of Arthurian Knights and Superheros and evil Wizards.

Well there are some things one can't ignore, even a Bush supporter, such as "YOu are either with me or against me" Anakin and Bushie say that) And some references of loss of liberty through thunderous applause which is rather poetic and I do happen think is happening now, I realize not everyone here agrees with me.

Like I said, if you already see the connection before even seeing the movie, then I'm sure you'll see it there.
But I have to say, the absolutist doctine of "With me (us) or against me (us)" has been around much longer than Bush.

And when Padme says that line about the death of liberty, it is meant quite literally.

Of course it's been around longer than Bush, that's the point, this is a fable..and fables are part of the human condition.
They speak real human stories in metaphors.

Right, but there are just as many historic examples that could be seen, like Stalin, Hitler, the Roman Empire...

All I'm saying is that people are going to read different things into the movie depending on what they bring to the movie. But that's the glory of a good movie, that it can be open to different interpretations, and no one person's interpretation is more correct than another.

You just made the point. Yes you *could* state that too, our current state just has just as much thunderous applause!

actually I'll say something quick before this probably gets shifted to IMO.. AGAIN. The Following is 4 lines from the movie WITH very MINOR spoilers and the script:

ANAKIN: Don't make me kill you.

OBI-WAN: Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic ... to democracy.

ANAKIN: If you're not with me, you're my enemy.

OBI-WAN: Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes. I will do what I must.

Sounds like to me that he wants Obi-Wan to join him and the Emperor, but is forced to kill him when (there is even a similar line that Vader uses in the film that was very similar to Empire as for ruling the galaxy together to Obi-Wan... but I guess a few people have selective memory.) Nothing more, Nothing less.... again people are grasping at straws.

But this film kicked major butt! Its turning into one of my favorites

Amen! Hayden was amazing! I felt bad for him the whole time. It was mostly for love! I love yoda!!!!! How he kicks butt, and then hobbles off using his cane (ep 2) and then his stuff in this one, he is great.

ObiWan was not bad on the eyes (neither was hayden!) it I enjoyed his part. I think he did a good job of still holding true to the ben kenobi from ANH.

There is nothing better than Han and Leia! You are so right about that. I am partial to leia anyway, she has always been my hero, and padme does not come close to her in anyway! The NERVE of them to put her in leia buns!!!

Overall Much better than the other two new ones. This entire time I have been so dissapointed in the new ones. This one I felt was was worthy of star wars.

I am going to see it again tomorrow. As soon as I walked in the door last night, my dad and my daughter both cornered me and said, WELL HOW WAS IT??? So I spilled the beans. Dad says, okay I'll see it Saturday, and my daughter was silent... I said, what's wrong? She said, you know how much I like Yoda, and you said he had some great parts. When can we go see it Mommy???

I'm like, okay Saturday... maybe Sunday, too????
My kid will be a geek just like her momma! hah!

I guess I should have added ---- The Emperor -- Ian McDiarmid --- his part is probably one of the best acting jobs I've seen in ions. He goes from this calm looking, nice guy with "something hidden" to this heinous, CRAZY dude, laughing hysterically and freaky ugly from evil... every single scene with him in it you will be mesmerized, right up til the end where he kneels down and touches the forehead of the very burned and dismembered Anakin / Vader.

And yeah, I know Lucas gave Padme the buns on the head to foreshadow Leia's buns, but let's be real; Leia is SO MUCH MORE the woman than Padme could dream of. Natalie's part in this movie was totally weak and underused; I almost felt like they were treating her as an invalid just cuz she was pregnant. She went from being a strong, fighting woman to this wimpy pregnant chic with perfect hair. Bugged me. I mean I know you have to take it easy when you're preggers but let's be real here.

I'm counting down til I hear the drumroll tomorrow! I warned my daughter about General Grievous, even though he's not on the screen very long (too bad, he was a cool bad-guy) and about the Emperor. I told her the part where he "transforms" is pretty scary. I thought it was scarier than the part where Anakin was put into the black suit; cuz that part was honestly just dang sad, tearful... whereas when the Emperor became disfigured, it was spooky!!!

I knwo there are a few parents concerned about the content of the film in the latest star wars film since it was rated PG-13. The Force Dot Net Wrote up a guide for parents explaining what is in the film and its very well written. For those who wish to read you can read the guide here and go from there. Some scenes are intense but... thats the up to the parents who are wondering if they should bring their kids to the movie. I would personally after seeing it, but thats just me.

Yeah...What's up with killing off all the cool bad-guys (except Vader, obviously!)??? Darth Maul was so cool, but got very little screen time. General Greivous is cool too. Wicked with the 4 light sabers.

Did anyone else notice the "hand" theme going on in this movie? I can't quite figure out the relevance of that...

WOW

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- The final chapter of the "Star Wars" movie saga grossed a record $50 million from its first 24 hours in North American theaters, the highest box office tally for a single day, according to studio estimates issued Friday.

"Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," the last installment in the six-part epic George Lucas launched nearly 30 years ago, surpassed the previous opening-day box office record set by "Spider-Man 2" -- $40.4 million -- and the $44.8 million single-day benchmark "Shrek 2" grossed in its fourth day of release, according to Exhibitor Relations Inc.
