Ohhhh Oliver is definitly my favourite, now!

I love those pics MA.
We are keeping Oliver and Mateuse. There is a lady who is supposed to take Scuba and Sonic next month, but I haven't heard back from her. I understand she is in the process of moving to a new place and these two are supposed to be a surprise to her family. So who knows? I am zoned for twenty cats because of our property and where we live, but heaven help me, I don't want that many!Originally Posted by xocats
Thank you MA, for sharing the new pictures of your babies. Each kitten is precious. Will Oliver & Matuese remain with you? I want to see them grow up and be part of your forever family. Do all of the other have homes now?
Thanks esrgirl! They brighten my day as well. To foster bottle babies, it would depend on the ages. But you have to feed newborns every two-three hours, then stimulate them so they eliminate their waste. As they get bigger, you go to every five hours. But you need to watch the little ones carefully early on, if they have no mom because they are so vulnerable, they suckle each other, and so you need you monitor them. But if you foster a momcat and her kittens, you just have to be able to provide a warm, safe place for the family to grow and feed momcat 5-6 times a day- then she does all the rest- including how to get the kittens to use a litter pan. When you deal with the really young kittens you find that you have no life for awhile. You nap when you can if your partner cooperates, and you pretty much are running on adrenaline for quite awhile. Once they reach the 8-9 weeks mark you can relax, even though FKS (Fading Kitten Syndrome) can claim up to 12 week old kittens. They are constantly underfoot, trying to climb your legs, jumping on your back- their needle claws are very sharp. Mike likes to say he isn't a kitty sitter anymore. He is a Kitty Entertainment Center! LOL They jump and climb all over you, exploring your scent, putting their scent on you. I always wear sweatshirts, jeans and heavy socks when I go into the kitten room, no matter how hot it is outside, because otherwise I resemble a pincushion when I leave.Originally Posted by esrgirl
These photos and updates always manage to brighten my day! This is just me being curious, but to foster bottle babies would one need to be at home full time? I've always wanted to foster pregnant moms and bottle babies someday when I own my own home- which is a ways off! I just figured I'd have to wait until I retired, and 35-40 years is a long way off
LOL hopefully he will love the 3 cat trees we have, but if not, I'm not worried! My carpet already looks like a lawn mower ran it over from Tango (good thing my landlady loves cats and thinks its funnyOriginally Posted by hissy
Thanks Ari- Gail the lady interested in Sonic and Scuba called tonight. She wants to drop round and visit her kitties.I told her we will be home all day tomorrow- I think she will be surprised at how much they have changed.
Ash- Massey is a human climber (thought I best warn you) If you are in the room with him, he will leap for your legs, if he is on a chair or a raised platform, he will leap for your back! LOL I am having to be in constant motion with this one, and it is funny how I'll watch and right before he gathers himself to grab me, I move and he ends up on the floor looking like "what happened?" He is also going to be a furniture scratcher (sorry) but we have an old beat up couch in the cat room that the cats are allowed to scratch and he loves it. Maybe you better go to the salvation army store and pick up a beat up old armchair-

I have been well accustomed to "human climbers" ! Cola isn't small anymore and still does it
Massey will fit right into our house
