I wish I lived nearer Oregon, however I feel sure you won't have any trouble finding good homes for the kittens. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but have you felt that maybe it was Kenai's time to go so you could rescue these kittens and give them a chance at life?

Literally so cute they took my breath away. They are so tiny! right before you asked if anyone wanted one, I said that I wanted one. Unfortunatly cj is all I can handle for about 5 hours a day (psycho times!) couldnt imagine two of him. But I am glad you were able to help these little angels....

Oh good grief their so sweet, bless their little hearts, and yours MA!

My friend Emma is doing the same thing herself right now. 3 Litters of kittens were taken to her surgery last week, so her, along with 2 other nurses have taken them home to nurse them

What a wonderful job you are doing. I hope that all the others keep up their strength and fight - cos they are all worth it IMO!

They are so tiny it makes me want to cry

You would be surprised how getting cj a kitty partner could turn the tables. The kittens run their energy off on the other, instead of you.
You aren't close to where I live, but I would suggest you check into a local humane society in your area for another kitty if it is financially conceivable.

I named the large white and black male this morning. He is a cow kitty and he protests a lot! His name is Simon Cow.

We have another kitten with systemic infection, a swollen paw turning colors.
Not sure what is going on, but am giving all the kittens antibiotic now. Just hope this one does not follow the other-

Aww the precious little babies. They've had such a tough start in life - but are getting the best possible care with you MA
. It's such a shame for their poor mama and the other baby

Just a wild hypothesis, but you don't think the babies nursed after mom-cat had ingested the poison?

They are all so precious - and they are in wonderful, caring hands now.

Aww poor little babies, they are lucky to have someone so loving and caring looking after them. Hope they are ok, especially the little one with the infection.

Im not very good with the lingo, but what was wrong with the little one that didnt make it?

Sending lots of kitty hugs from Blossom and I all the way from Australia!!

Oh my goodness!!! Poor kitty momma!!! How wonderful you are to take the kittens in, Mary Anne. They are a blessing, if you ask me.

Mary Anne, you are such a wonderful person. I can't wait to watch these kitties grow!!! I pray that the other kitties stay healthy...

No one really knows what happened. he had a swollen and purple paw that wasn't warm, but it wasn't ice cold. Over time, the swelling spread to his leg, and his genitals, both of which went from warm to tepid. He also had a stumpy tail so he could have been in some sort of injury and the tissue was dying, or these kittens spent a full night outside in the rain on a cold night and he could have gotten hypothermia. Again, why the people who knew they were there and did nothing.......oh well. It could be a systemic infection which could mean these kittens have a disease, it is a sort of a waiting game at this point. They are all right now getting antibiotic with their formula and chances are good that they did not get mom's milk long enough to get her antibodies so they are health-compromised.

Heidi, if they did indeed get poisoned they all would be sick, drooling, frothy, vomiting diarrhea, tremors- for the most part they are active little kitties. Hoping this can be stopped by the antibiotics-
