Question about Milk Comming

Well Mama Cat had 5 kittens but one died

Can you tell me if her Milk was supposed to be here BEFORE the kittens came?.....They are suckling ,but before she had the Kittens there was no milk...Does it Kick in when she had the kittens?....

It is supposed to start coming down shortly before birth but doesn't always in all cats. Eating the afterbirth is also supposed to help the queen with milk production but again, not always.

well another one has died.....
..I just cant understand it....So we have 3 left and one doesnt look healthy......And there are NO vets open here on Sunday.....I feel like I,m just sitting here waiting for them to die......

ghostkitten..I'm sorry...sometimes kittens don't make it, even under the best of circumstances. I would definately make this your cat's only litter and have her spayed.
