Can Food?

i'm still searching for a can food that my cat will eat, and the only one i have not tried is chicken and tuna, is this ok? i red that can with fish in it is not good.

human tuna in oil I think deplets viatimin e .. if it is a cat food it is fine///

have you tried the merrick cans??

what is merrick can cat food? i'm not familiar with the brand.

Hi Hunter,

The problem with tuna is that human grade tuna in oil can cause vitamin e depletion, but cat foods with tuna are supplemented with vitamin e, so it is not a consideration. There is some concern over mercury levels in human tuna (and I would assume with pet grade tuna), so I would not go for a daily diet of tuna...not all fish cat foods though are using tuna (petgold - the petco line I mentioned to you in the other thread today, uses lobster, sardines and calamari).

Bottomline, I think it is fine on occasion, not as the mainstay of your cats diet, to feed fishy canned cat foods.
