Max had toxoplasmosis about two years ago and still has chronic diarrhea. We have exhausted all the vet's suggestions.

We've tried a hypoallergenic diet (IVD duck & creamed peas); antibiotics; canned pupkin; yogurt; Immodium . . . nothing helps.

Anyone else have this? Any suggestions?

How old is Max? If his is older, has the vet tested him for hyperthyroidism? If he is young, or if hyperT has been ruled out, it sounds like he has IBD/IBS. There is a Yahoo! group that might be helpful to you. I can't remember what it is called. I know that sometimes predinsone or other steroids have been used to treat chronic diarrhea. Good luck!

Cloud Shade,

Thank you, that was an excellent suggestion and I was able to find and join that group. It was worth it for their FAQs alone. Max is a senior cat (almost 14) and has not been tested for hyperthyroidism but I am going to ask his vet to check for that and for the IBS since the things we're doing now aren't helping. Thank you again!!
