My little guy is a little over 5 months old. I just ran out of his bag of kitten chow (Nutro Natural choice complete care - Kitten) should I get him another bag of the kitten stuff, or should I switch to bigger kitty stuff?

Also, this food seems to give him bad gas.. Ever since I got him he's had some pretty raunchy gas every once in a while. Should I get him a different food all together? I know not to switch it abruptly.

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: Looks like I answered my own question.. From the Nutro website: "To realize all of the benefits Complete Care has to offer, you should make it your kitten's only source of nutrition. After 1 year, your kitten is now an adult and his or her diet should be changed to Complete Care Adult." 1 year then. Ok! Still wondering though if I should change his food since he's gassy on this stuff?

Switch foods ... your baby likely has issue with chn... Try natural balance vension and brown rice, not kitten but not likely to give gas

I'm not sure what your kitten is reacting to, but a gradual switch to a different food sounds like a good idea.

Just for grins and giggles, here is an article on hypoallergenic carbs for cats and dogs - it goes over common carbs that cause food allergies.

Royal Canin Kitten34 formula is for kittens with sensitive stomachs, but does contain both chicken and some corn.

You could try it and if there is still an issue, know that it may be the chicken afterall.

Chn is my guess just due to dealing with many animals in my job...

common kitty issue foods... fish, corn, wheat, alfalfa , flaxseed and chn...

in natural choice chn rice sunflower oil corn gluten meal... main ingrediants thus main suspects..
