My 1 year old cat Izzy had 3 kittens last week. I was really afraid that as she was so young she would reject them. Every thing has been going really well until yesterday when i noticed that she was biting them whilst cleaning them. It is mainly on the throat and neck she bites them and I can tell that they dont like it. She always stops after a while and feeds them normally? Can you tell me why she is doing this?

Mother cats move (carry) kittens by holding on their scruff (with teeth) (scruff is the part behind their neck) if she's not really injuring them she may just be doing this to get them to sit still while she gives them a bath! Many mothers can relate to this!

Yes, mamacat is only scruffing them and this is normal behavior. Good luck with the kittens!
