Yup Susie, I think that will work!

Stephanie, that really made me chuckle! I never thought about the poor nurse standing by me!
I think I will chat to her next time! Although the last time I went to my breast doc, the nurse held my hand all the way through the appointment!

Did you take a shower this morning, Susie?

When I was doing temp work at Doctors' offices, whenever they would do a Pap or breast exam on a woman, a Nurse always had to be present in the room. I was always wondering where to look (away) or what I should do standing there so as to keep the woman from feeling any more uncomfortable than she already was. Oh, look at the lovely sign/crack/picture on the wall!
Thanks Sis.....you know, this gyno doesn't have the nurse in the office when he does things and the one I had before didn't either, but I'll tell ya, if I were a gyno, I would definitely have one in there to protect myself.

And yes Miss Stephanie, I did shower this morning.........extra well!

When I first started going to this guy, Jerry came with me because I had some issues that scared me. He sat right there next to me while the doc did his examinations. He thinks someone should be in there too, but he likes this doc, so he is cautiously ok with it.

I don't like having someone else in the room.. It makes me very uncomfortable. One time I went to the derm and had to get a full body scan for moles and the derm had his nurse sit in and she made me much more uncomfortable than he did and I haven't been back since. Men don't bother me as much as women for some reason.

Wonderful exam isn't it? I had cervical cancer in 1972 and at one of my check-ups the specialist starts taking pictures!!!! He said I had healed the best of any of his patients and he would like to show the slides at a conference coming up.

I told him if any of the doctors at the conference asked for my phone number to give it to them!

That'd be fine, if I were closer; so I'll send some pretty-picture vibes for you to envision while you've got your eyes closed. How 'bout some spring flowers in the desert, or the towering snow banks of Ebbetts Pass melting into sparkling, tinkling brooks? My g-friends & I refer to the exam as "being vetted"; once my co-worker described it to an unmarried bachelor co-worker as "laying on your back, with your feet in metal stirrups, your bottom in the air & they use a mini Jaws of Life to scratch out some samples and then they poke & squeeze your chachas". He was quite horrified, but what else could be expected from a bunch of country girls who've been raised around livestock? You have the moral support from every woman in this site & I hope it all goes well for you!! Susan

Aw Susie, I'm sending MEGA vibes your way. No matter how many times I go, I always dread going. I know the routine, have had the same doctor for years but I always hate it. In these days, if we can send a man to the moon, it looks like someone could come up with an easier way to to a pap

I feel your pain Susie....and for those of you who don't go regularly....please, please do! The embarassment/discomfort is a whole lot less than some of the consequenses, trust me, been there, done that! Oh, and did I mention that I'm in love with my new gyno? He's a sexy thang, and doesn't know it!
