Well if she isn't a cat lover she will be now!!

I thought that was brilliant Sarah!, because for me after reading that it would certainly have put my mind at ease with the situation with the cats

At the kitty's beck and call
That sounds good Sarah. I know you said that the landlady is somewhat remote and might not want to visit you and your cats but it might be good to make the offer anyway. That way you're demonstrating that you have nothing to hide and that you're more than willing to show that you live up to what you say in the letter.

Thanks guys!

Beth, I agree about the offer - it does show that I am not hiding anything! I will try to work it in and post the additions!

How does this sound?

Due to my flat mate having a slight allergy to cats, I ensure that the property is always free from fur and allergens. I frequently hoover and steam clean the carpets and furniture on a monthly basis (or as required, as I own my own steam cleaner) I also mop and disinfect surfaces daily and dispose of pet waste responsibly and in the correct manner.

In order for you to attain a better picture, I would like to give you the invitation to meet my cats and myself in our home environment. If you would like to arrange this, please contact me.

I would please request that you reconsider allowing me to keep my cats, as I feel that my - and their - quality of life would be considerably jeopardised with any separation.

Yup! That was a very neutral, well written letter and should go down well and hopefully make them reconsider.

Please keep us updated, good luck

Thank you guys!

I think I will email it first thing in the morning - I'd like to make sure she get it! Gosh, I'm going to be a nervous wreck

I really and truly hope that they reconsider!
It is the last thing I can think of

Please all send your bestest vibes to help the Landlord and Lady let me keep my precious babies

I have just sent the email now - took me all my time to pluck up enough courage to press send!

Hopefully they read it and understand the situation a bit better!
I'll keep you all updated!

I have also been looking through the stuff that we were given when we accepted the keys and I noticed that in the requirements (that the agent must have had when showing us around) does not state 'No Pets'!
So the agent was reading from the LL requirements!!!

They did however state 'No Students' so they obviously wanted rules to be in place!
Seems a bit strange to mention no for students and not even mention pets!

Has the e-mail went to her office?
It is really odd! I don't think the agent was supposed to give us the sheet with the info on either!

I think it will have gone to her office, but it's just a freeserve address, so I can't be sure!

The letter is brilliant and shows you to be a mature and articulate woman...
I really hope it works out too...

(To add some levity, you could state that "in no time in the future will I be acquiring any students as I know that they can cause much more damage than cats ever can")

Keeping fingers crossed.

Also, if she balks at the idea, you could try offering her an extra "cat deposit"?

Yes Ryan, it is a bit of a mess!
Just my luck!

Lovesmummy, thank you so much for your compliment!
I too really hope this works - it's better to be honest about the whole thing, so I truly hope that they can see this!

I would have loved to add the student bit!
But it's good that I didn't because the last tenant was a student and happened to be the Landlady's daughter!

I think I will leave the cat deposit for a final resort - I'm going to fight on principle for now!
