Gaston, SC anyone?

I have a possible relocation opportunity to Gaston, SC, just outside of Columbia. Is anyone familiar with this town/area? I do know the house is in a rural location on 3 acres.

Sorry, sweetie... I lived in Knoxville, TN all my life until 3 years ago when I moved to Florida. Can't help ya there, wish I could! I know how stressful it is to move to a completely new area. Can you take a weekend trip there to check it out? That helped me a lot, although moving to a new place is just plain scary in itself at least you'd get a decent idea of what you're in for!

We're planning on doing that. It sounds like a perfect situation: we have been fighting to hold onto the house (in bankruptcy and facing possible foreclosure for years now) and a co-worker is unable to find a buyer for her former home (in Gaston). It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a sunporch on 3 partially wooded acres, for $550 a month rent-to-own.

I am originally from the North Augusta/Augusta area, and have been in the Gaston area a little. I rmemeber it as a nice, quiet place with very nice people.
