I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, mods feel free to move or delete if necessary.

My hubby's nephew is a student at University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and called me yesterday asking if I wanted another Maine Coon. Seems one of his professors has one that has "outgrown" his apartment (!). What I know about it: 3 year old neutered male, very sweet, apparently huge, adopted originally from a shelter, so no papers of course. As I told Jamie, he would have to be called a MC Mix since there are no papers. I gave the nephew the website for Maine Coon Rescue, (and also told him to Google "Maine Coon Rescue,") and told him that the 2 MC kittens we're committed for is probably our limit (if this had come up 2-3 months ago .... ) I don't know the age at which he was adopted, but I'm guessing quite young since he's outgrown the apt. They do get big you know
! For that reason I'm also guessing that when he was adopted he may not have been called a Maine Coon. I would hope a professor would have enough sense to know what s/he's getting into when adopting a cat. Jamie's mom already has *9* so I don't think they can take him, although I wouldn't put it past my SIL to do so (she's a real softie
.)

Anybody interested or has any leads, feel free to PM me.
