Do they know you're sorry?

I have accidentially stepped on my cats tails or feet before, and they yelp out and I always feel so bad...they go running like I did it on purpose, but I just bend down to their level and tell them I am sorry..this will work with Rocky and Fluff, but Ash hasn't completely gained 100 % trust with me yet.....I just wonder if they really know I didn't mean to step on them..I hope so!

My cats are laidback, so they are pretty forgiving!

The worst thing is when you accidentally step on a tail or trip over a cat, and go to apologize...and they flinch, like you're going to beat them. Yeah, like they get beaten. I tell them, they are treated better than a lot of people treat their human children!

I cuddle with Limerick whenever I do something like that.... and tuna doesn't hurt either

Sandy nips my ankle when I step on her. I think they're very ticked off for a minute or two, then they just kinda get over it.

I think they just kind of say, "Well, what can you expect of the poor clumsy things,,,," and get over it.

QT, well, she's my "vindictive" one. It takes a few hours of meowmy's groveling, lots of treats and some tears before things get back to normal.

It depends on which kitty. Cairo disappears and sulks for ages and then finally forgives you. Sunday forgives you instantly because she couldn't be mad AT ALL, EVER (lol) and Sashka knows you didn't mean it but runs off anyway cos she's a kitten and that's all she does!! She usually gets you back, too, by dropping a cockroach in your lap or pouncing on you as you go around a corner or something. It's all about revenge, for her

I have shouted at Guinness before (if he is doing something really bad like swinging from the curtains etc) and sometimes he puts his ears down so I know that I have upset him Then 5 mins later he is all loving and cuddling. I think he forgives me... and I also think he knows when he is doing something wrong!

The only time that he sulks and is annoyed with me is if I have gone away for a few days. He won't come near me. Most of the time he will go and hide behind the bed or won't come in from the garden lol
