Hi everyone. I just found out early this morning that my good friend, Libby, was hit by a drunk driver yesterday morning. She was on her way to work and was in the turn lane to get on the highway, when a 23 year old drunk girl (
AT 5:00 IN THE MORNING
) tried to turn off the highway and instead of turning, when straight into the side of my friend's car. Libby was not wearing her seatbelt, which in this case probably saved her life. She was thrown into her own passenger seat and received multiple injuries including a head injury, her pelvis has fractures, her lung was hurt, and lots of other smaller injuries including bruising and 22 stitches on her face.

The girl who hit her immediately got out of her car and tried to run away from the accident.

It's Libby's 21st birthday tomorrow, and had big plans to celebrate tonight.

I have to get ready to go, and won't have much time to stop by TCS today, so PLEASE if you could, say a prayer for my friend...that she recovers quickly with the most minimal amount of physical damage. She really is one of the greatest people I know.

Thanks everyone.
Love, Lacey

Oh Lacey - your poor friend. I'm thinking of her - and sending lots of "get well soon" vibes. I hope her injuries are quick to recover and leave no lasting effects.

Libby is now out of the intensive care unit and in a room. I don't know much yet, except that she started some therapy today. I am going to visit in the morning, though, so I will post afterwards. Thanks so much for all of your prayers and vibes---I will be sure to tell her that you all are praying for her!!!

I know I've gotten to this thread a bit late, but I've said a prayer for your friend's fast rehabilitation. I know that you'll be with her every step of the way, which is exactly what she needs. Libby is lucky to have a friend like you Lacey, and I'm sure that she knows it.

I'll be praying for her too. What is up with all the drunk people causing accidents lately!?! Seems like since the weather got nice people have been deciding to do stupid things...at least here anyway!

thanks everyone! I went to Build-a-Bear and made her a bear today and was getting ready to go see her, but called first to see if the timing was okay, but she was getting stitches taken out, so I couldn't go...
I'll either go tonight or in the morning.

Thanks again for all the prayers and vibes---I'll definitely tell her about you all!!!

P.S. Don't drink and drive!!!
