sick 12 day kitten

I have a cat who just gave birth 12 days ago to one kitten. The kitten is fed well but he has green and brownish crust around his eyes. I cleaned them with warm water and a soft cloth and got most of the crust off. Also in one eye green puss came out. My questions are: Well it go away, what causes it, and will my new kitten go blind or die and have I done the right thing by cleaning the eyes with warm water and clean soft cloth?

Sorry I can't give you many answers but it does sound like he should be seen by a vet. Could be an infection of some kind.

Baby needs an antibiotic eye ointment from the vet - best to let the vet take care of this before it gets any worse.
