Ooh noo..
Leo has always been a very clean and healthy kitty.. He is only 4 years old and I fear he my have worms.

I called the vet and we have a 10:30 appointment tomorrow morning...

How can you tell if your kitty has worms? I saw something tiny and white inching its way slowly around Leos butt...

(I know that sounds gross.. I'm grossed out just by typing it
)

I do plan on taking a sample of kitty poo with me tomorrow to the Vet ...
I
just saw it today when I got home from work. Leo is an indoor kitty so I don't know how he could have gotten it...
But anyway... Is that worms?? What is it?

Thanks you guys.

Sounds like tapeworm. They get it from ingesting fleas. They're more of a "yuck" factor than harmful, although that's bad enough! They can also be hard to get rid of as a regular wormer won't touch them. I'm dealing with the same thing with my dog right now, the vet gave her a shot for it, but I'm still seeing the motile segments (the little white moving thing you noticed) so I guess she's going back for another shot, I want her tapeworm free before the kittens come home in 3 weeks! Here's a pretty good article, but it does have illustrations
(drawings though, not photos), so you might want to give it a miss depending on how squeamish you are.

Oh dear! Im so sorry to hear your dog is having a hard time getting rid of tapeworm..
I just found another on on Leos rearend.. I've put it in a ziplock baggie.. Do you think this is enough to take in to the vet with Leo tomorrow? Or do I still need to give him a stool sample? :|

What do they do for Tapeworm?
Im so worried.. Maybe more so than I should be. Leo is a healthy kitty.. I do need to get him on FrontLine...

It really sounds like tapeworms to me, too. But, don't worry, it's no biggie. Did you know that more than 1 out of every 10 HUMANS live with a tapeworm in them!? In some areas, 90% of people have WORMS! 85% of Americans have parasites in them. So, it's really no biggie.
They should give him some dewormer of some sort, and that should take care of it. You can take a stool sample with you, as it will save Leo some discomfort of having to go through a fecal, but if you don't want to, they will just do a fecal and test him that way.
