I am so excited
Tonight I finally saw the babies with the mommy feral I have been trying to get her for almost 9 months, it is the 11th one in the group that I got 10 of, she is very very friendly
I was just waiting for her to get them coming to the GLOP
and she has now, there is 3 grey and white ones 1 black and white and 1 solid black
At least that's all I have seen I hope that's all there is
she's a pretty small girl I figured she would only have maybe 3,,
Now I guess I should get them used to me like she is, she actually knows my car
and they get some advice about how to do this, I can pick her up, should I wait till I can handel them also, I would not want to not be able to get them all at the same time, I want to get Mommy to the Vet ASAP
any advice about how to go about this and how long should I wait untill they are comfortable with me like she is? Great Good, Wonderful ,,,

I am going to do that first thing, but shouldn't I get the babies at the same time? They are just about 7 weeks old, I want to get them all. But shouldn't I let them get used to me?

I would trap them all if possible. You can socialize them once they have been to the vet.

For the situation you describe, S/N comes before you start trying to socialize them.

Good work and thanks for taking care of these cats!

Ok a few ?, This female I am going to get is the one that has taken 9 months, she hates traps hates carriers and whatever, that's why I never got her before. Now we have 5 babies to contend with also, my question ? is who should I get forst she is friendly to the point that I can pick her up witch is probably how I will get her, then get her into a carrier, not that it won't be a slight bit tough, I am concerned if I get her they will be taking off in differant directions, if I get them I'm afraid she will take off again, the babies are eating food, but they aren't quit sure about me yet, they do meow and they do come out, she meows alot, the others I trapped did not, but I have been taking care of her for 9 months, any suggestions will help I'm sure

Also she may be pregrant again and I want to get her to the vet but I do not want to take her and leave the babies there, so I need to get them all at the same time, the babies have only been eating a bit of food for about 5 days now.Is that long enough for them to be without Mom?

OMG the 5 babies are so beautiful, they were running and playing this evening and jumping on one another, I can't wait to get them.

Oh, how exciting! I think if you get the Momma first, the babies will come. Even if they scatter at first, it seems like they would come back to her. If she cries and carries on a lot, it may scare them. But then maybe if you go back for them a few hours later, they will come to you for food (I think!)

I just don't want to screw it up this time, I want to be able to get everyone, I wish she didn't get so
around the carriers and traps, but I don't hardly think they forget that stuff, she will not come around them, It took me to long to get her to trust me again...

I would trap mom and try to trap the litter. If you wait..you may run into a cycle of her having a litter and you "waiting"....which isn't good. I would PM Hissy and see how she recommends going about with the trapping.

Trapping Mom may not work, I am hoping I can pick her up, she will let me pick her up, then get her in a carrier, it has been very tough getting her to trust again me like she does, she has gotten to the point of letting me pet and love on her and she rubs all over me, but the minute the trap or carrier is in sight she will be long gone.
I tried for 4 months to get her before, what she is doing now is coming out eating rubbing on me letting me pet her and rub her belly, then she is going back to the babies meowing till they come to her, then coming back out and rubbing on me, I am (guessing) but I kinda think she is trying to tell the babies that I am ok.
I can't afford to blow it this time, I need a so called perfect plan or I will end up with more babies lol, and I do not want that, I want to get them all at the same time, get them home and get her to the vet.
My husband suggested I take my large carrier put some clothes that I have worn and set it back in where they are, I am thinking about that one, but like I said she is one little smartie, any other suggestions would be appericated..

I still am lost as how to go about it, I don't suppose there's a FOOL PROOF PLAN is there? I don't want to mess this up, I exausted already just trying to figure something out, oh how I wish she wasn't scared of the traps and carriers

Can you disguise the carrier in some way...put it inside of a cardboard box or something along those lines. There isn't a perfect plan but if you wait too long she will most likely become pregnant again.

Well I have one of the babies I can pick up, but I don't think it would be to smart to get them one by one, at least 3 out of the 5 are pretty friendly and Mom is very sweet, oh she swats at me once in a blue moon, I think I need 5 people to help do this lol, so I don't make a mess of it...
