So one of my friends decided she would start fostering kittens. I've been fostering for about 1/2 a year so I'm not expert, but I've been trying to help her out as much as possible.
Well, the poor thing was given Momma cat with a litter of *7* kittens. Things have been MOSTLY okay.
Except that one of them is a real runt. She's been keeping a good eye on him from day one since she noticed how tiny he was, but she's been really fretting since he hasn't been growing. Yesterday he had diarrhea and she rushed him off to the vet.
They said he seemed a little cold and like he should get some extra bottle feeding (not getting enough from momma). They showed her how to do it properly, and told her how to warm him up. I also sent her links to the Kitten-Rescue website (about warming them up, etc), and some recipes for kitten glop.
Are we missing any ideas here? Anyone have any thoughts? Or just some good vibes sent his way would be nice. I want her to enjoy fostering a little so she keeps doing it, but she's just been worrying about the runt.
