HI... I will start off by telling you that my cat LILO (13 months old) has not been LILO for about 2 and a 1/2 weeks. Right around the time that we briught a new kitten home.

Our new kitten (Garfield) ended up being very sick when we bought him. He had coccidia. So I have given him alot of attention.

But I have also made it a point (ecspecially with her being pregnant) to give LILO even MORE attention.

She ended up getting sick to. We never could get a stool sample from her. And she does not use her litter pan. She just goes somewhere outside. But she did go in the litter pan yesturday. And she no longer has loose stool. But she still has her 3rd eyelid. And also when she is sitting or laying down I will go to her to love on her and she will just get up and walk away from me. Or if she is laying down she will get up and move to another spot to lay down. As if she doesnt want me to bother her!!!
But night before last she was so lovey to me!!! And everyone!! I was so happy b/c I thought maybe whatever was making her not be herself was gone.
Her and the new kitten get along now. They have for about a week. They are not best friends or anything but she does go lay with him sometimes. And if he crys for something she runs to check on him.

My question is... what could still be causing her 3rd eyelid? Could it just be stress? Could it be that even though she is comfortable with Garfield that she doesnt feel safe with him with her new kittens on their way any day now?? I feel helpless.

Any suggestoins?

W/ the best cats
From what I know, the 3rd eyelid is caused by an infection OR debris getting in the eye.
Try gently rubbing over the closed eye with a warm washcloth. Although I read that flushing the eye with saline solution works too. DO NOT USE VISINE or anything similar which may cause blindness. If it doesn't help, you may want to visit the vet for a prescription of antibiotic eyedrops.
As for your other concerns, cats are as moody as people IMO.
I would just be patient and continue giving them both your care and love.

Thank you so much.
I have been so worried about her. Last night I came home from work and she had poo all over her rear end and her tail!!! It doesnt seem to even be loose stool at all. I dont know how to explain that but with her being so close to delivery I called her vet and they are gonna check her. I just would rather be safe than sorry.
I will let everyone know what the vet says as soon as I get back.

Well sorta good news!!
I took her to the vet and he said he is sure she got COCCIDIA from the kitten.

It has been one thing after another these past 3 weeks!!!!

But he says she really looks better than Tuesday. He gave her ANOTHER ALBON shot today. Also he uped her dosage of ALBON oral to 2cc's a day from 1 cc.
He wants to try and completly rid her body of the coccodia BEFORE the babies are born. (Which he said will be any day now)!!!
I have such mixed feelings.

I am sooooo excited to see and love the babies ... but I want her to have enough time to get all of the coccidia out of her body!!!
