As many of you read, I'm volunteering as a cat socializer at the Buena Park, CA Petsmart cat adoption center. I go in after work every wednesday and basically pet cats (tough life...)

Here's this week's pictures. The large white one is deaf, and finally got adopted after a long time. The two tuxedo ones both bit me (one isn't feeling well, and one doesn't like to smell other cats on your hands)

enjoy...

It's sweet of you to volunteer your time!

Oh my god - all you guys who volunteer with cats I can't believe you don't take every one home! I would never be good at it for just that reason!

The pics were great - the white guy/gal brought a tear to my eye - looks so similar to my Comere (RB) - but in a good way
-- I'm so glad that kitty finally got a home.

That sounds like a fun volunteer job, but I couldn't do it either, I would get too attached and want to take them all home. I already have 11 and have to give my new babies away, and I don't want to.

Have fun.

it ain't easy. One of the little kittens (the one with the grey cowl over his eyes/head) immediatly curled up and started purring the instant I picked him up... it was tough to put him back.

The funny thing is, if the cage has 4 kittens, and you take one out, the other three run to the bars and start meowing pathetically, as if you kidnapped their sibling. ;-)

his name is Casper, and he is a fantastic cat. Very friendly and affectionate. (he's actually the only full-grown cat I was able to get a purr out of).

It's not too hard to not take them home, because the really cute ones (kittens, esp) get picked up pretty quick. The ones that stay around tend to be the ones with some kind of issue.

if you link from photobucket, you can click on the edit button of your pic, (on the photobucket site) & resize it...go with the 75% first, then log-out & check the size, because if you do it too small, you can't undo it without re-uploading the pic w/a new name!

Wish I had the willpower to do what you're doing without taking each and every kitty home with me!
Looks like you are working with some precious babies though!

about half of the little ones were already adopted when these pictures were taken (there's a waiting period I guess), with the others soon to go I'm sure.

The big white one's been there a long time 9since he's deaf) but finally found a home (he's very affectionate). in fact, he goes home tomorrow morning. (saturday).

really? (checks server...)

everything looks like it's working. I serve this site off of my cheap home DSL line, so the connectivity isn't always the most stable.

try again, let me know if you get through. if not, I'll see if ther's something I can do from this end...
