Okay, silly question...

Is there a breed of cat that is all brown? Just like the solid blues/greys are all one color, is there a breed of cat that is solid brown - kinda like the color of a chocolate lab?

I think it would be so pretty!

Anyone know if there is such a breed - and better yet, anyone got a picture if there is such a thing?

Thanks!

I don't know if there are any breed that only has chocolate cats, but there are breeds of cats, such as persians, that can be chocolate, chocolate bicolor, or chocolate point. The father of my persian was chocolate and white. The link has a picture of chocolate persian kitten.

Though Persians aren't my style, the pics are very pretty...

But that Havana Brown is exactly the kind of kitty I was thinking of! Wow, what a beautiful cat!

Thanks Vespa

Are there any other all-brown breeds anyone know?

Burmese come in a variety of colours, including chocolate. Also Tonkinese can be solid chocolate (they come in 3 coat patterns, 'natural' which means solid with some subtle shading, 'pointed' like a siamese, and 'mink' which is in-between)

Yes, they're gorgeous. I saw a few back when I was showing Mik.

I'm definitely liking that idea, Amy.

There's also the Sable Burmese, which have a shiny, dark brown coat. But of course, they come in other colours.

I dunno what breed my Snickers is, but he is most certainly a chocolate cat!!!

As a kitten, he had the weirdest markings... gray on his sides, tail and beard, tipped in RED. The rest of him was deep dark chocolate brown.

As he aged (he's 14 now), he became solid chocolate... with the red points on his beard & belly staying... he looks beautiful in sunlight. He's sweet & nutty, just like the candy bar...

The Chantilly/Tiffany cats are supposed to be a chocolate breed. They do have some blues but their colors are gorgeous. It is a breed that is almost extinct, or that is what I have read. I've been ch ecking it out online.
