About a month ago I adopted a stray male, got him fixed right away. I brought him home and my 1 year old female Frankie hates him. She won't let him go near either litter box. She won't let him eat. I have food in the kitchen for her and food in the bedroom for him. She eats both. If he leaves from being under the bed she attacks him. Now this week she is even venturing under the bed to attack him. The poor little guy is petrified. The other thing is he is starting to pee everywhere. Resulting in a smelly apartment for me. Frankie has always been clean and i have never had an odor problem. But now with this new cat, i always am sniffing a horrible smell and struggling to pin point it. Any one have any ideas on how to make my life and my cats life any easier??

More than likely you placed them together way to quickly for them to adjust. They should be separated, and your new cat should go to the vet always before putting it with the resident cat. They should not, once they are placed together which can be weeks, even months, they should not share anything, not food bowls, water bowls, litter pans, toys nothing-

i did take him to the vet before bringing him in. i did not want to risk my other cat getting sick. the hard thing is i live in an apartment. which i share with a roommate. so it was kind of hard keeping them seperate. at first i kept the one in the bathroom. and the other in the room. but then it became a hassle for my roommate. and they did have seperate food bowls but frankie knows how to open doors and she found a way to use everything that was his.
