Don't know if this is the right forum but I remember that someone here had a suggestion for making a stuffed "Attack" toy.. (for when your kit wants to use his back legs to beat up a toy and front legs to hold onto it)...

I remember something about using a woollen sock and stuffing it with something, but can't remember what?

Lovey is doing this to daughter's shoes right now and I would like to make him a substitute...perhaps with some catnip in it to entice him?

Silly question, but I just don't know what to stuff it with..

TX!

I don't remember reading that thread, but you can make something like that using a sock, stuff it with batting you get at a fabric shop, and you can put some catnip inside to help get them interested.

I don't know...?

Nano does what you describe with a cheap catnip mouse available from Petsmart. It has a size and weight that is about the same as an adult mouse. Nano lays on her side, holds it with one set of paws and rips at it with the other set of paws. She really tears it up -- she's already on her fourth and I have two more new ones ready for her to use. She gets really rough and simply tears the "mouse" to shreds.

It is made of leftover pieces of cloth, beans (like from a bean bag) and kitty crack -- oops, I mean catnip -- plus has little bells on its string tail. So an enterprising person could probably make such a thing out of an old sock and save a dollar.

So if I had to guess, try filling an old sock with (cheap) large store-brand beans and pieces of leftover cloth to give it shape, then sprinkle in generous amounts of catnip and seal it up. Spritz the thing with catnip spray and see what the cat does with it.

Good luck!

Thanks guys!
I will attempt to find something at my pet supply store like you suggested....
I could use the sock idea but am not great at putting things together.
Better at buying them

I just thought that the little catnip mice might be too small for him, but will see if he takes to them...

CJ and Billy's "attack" toy is a SmartyKat Refillable CatNip Mouse... it's full of special stimulating catnip, and they love it!

I bought mine at Wal-Mart, but you can find it other places, too. Here's a pic of it.

Nano's toy is not a miniature little mouse. It is about the size of a soda can and weighs a few ounces. I think it costs $1 -- it looks fairly ragged even when new, but it is totally destroyed by the time Nano is done with it. Last place I saw one was at a checkout lane in Petsmart.

Yeah, they pigged out... and supposedly, they went through their armpit.... at least that's what they said in one episode.

Milo seems to think that's what Pixie is for half the time! He does regularly attack a teddy bear like that though. Maybe a small stuffed animal?

I have one of those at my parent's house for the boys and their cat Bubbles. Shes not much of a player at her advanced age but the boys especially Samwise love that thing. I really do need to get out and buy a couple for the apartment.
