Ok, so Salem and his sister Spook play great together! They sleep together and everything. All is good until I noticed something recently.....1st incidence is when Salem caught a centipede and his sister tried to get in on it, he growled at her and took it somewhere else. Ok, I wrote that off to he caught the prey and didn't want her taking credit for it. Then tonight, I was giving them each a Whiskas treat. I put one down for each of them but Spook wanted to see what he had.....he growled at her again!! What is his deal? Should I tell him "No" when I hear this or not?
Is this normal?
Why is he doing this?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Wellllll,
you could try to tell him "no", but chances are he's not gonna understand that the growling has anything to do with the subsequent "no".

So long as he's not being physically aggressive towards her, I'm thinking the growling might just be something you're gonna have to live with.

For the first week or so we had Emma, she growled at us, her brother, inanimate objects...but she outgrew it.
As your furbaby settles in ( I gathered from your post he may be new to your house, but maybe I'm wrong) chances are he won't feel the need to growl over treats, bugs, etc.

Or, he may just be a growler! Another fun personality quirk!

In my experience with catfights, "growling" means "this is my last warning before I hurt you".
So I do say NO when they growl. They don't take it against me either. As a matter of fact, they look at me like "Sorry mom, forgot myself!" and take off happily

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
Rosie sometimes growls at Sophie if she bugs her too much!. On saturday i was changing the bedding and as usual they were getting in the quilt cover, but Sophie invaded Rosies space while she was playing in it and give her a quick growl and a bat on the head
but Sophie knows how far she can push Rosie and always backs off.

Sophie on the other hand is a growler when it comes to her toys!. Sometimes she gets so carried away with what she's playing with that she growls like a baby lion cub

Milly growls - I have heard her do this several times, and it is always when she has been having a particularly good cuddle, and someone knocks at the door. I don't think she likes to be interrupted!

Yes he is new here. They have only been here since April 19th. We are moving this weekend but then we will stay put for awhile.
Thanks for the advice. I actually kinda laugh when he does it but wasn't sure if it was something I should try to correct or not.
