I have a tube of Frontline that I got from the vet at Dori's annual exam in October. I never used it because until now there wasn't any concern about her getting fleas or mosquito bites. We recently moved and I am worried about mosquitos, I might need to double check, but I believe Frontline prevents mosquitos as well... Anyway, do you think this tube is still good. It is almost 7 months later and I don't have any idea the shelf life on it. It is just a sample so I don't really have any packaging info.

I would think that if it is unopened then it should be fine. Is there a date on it at all? You could always call the vet to ask.

Frontline only protects against fleas and ticks, no mosquitos. Only Canine Advantix does mosquitos, and it can't be used on cats. Frontline does not have an expiration date, so it should be fine.

So would Heartguard be the only prevention against mosquitos? I am worried about heartworms. Mosquitos are really bad in the area I moved to, more so than where I was before. We have a large sliding door in the living room that goes to the patio/pool area and we come in and out a lot. There isn't a way to be 100% sure the mosquitos won't come inside.
