The toilet training has been going fine, up to this point.
I had plastic over the toliet seat, with litter. The next stepp is to put a hole in the plastic, so my cats can get used to the water.

When I started this, both cats were just discusted by it. Orei is pooping everywhere! Its so much, I can't handle it. I've been all over the place, cleaning, and our house smells GROSS!

Could someone help? I need to know if I should give up traing after all this time, or should I just give it some time? I went back on the last step a hour ago. So far one of the cats went potty. HELP!

i have read a book and a few articles about toilet training your cats, if i had less cats i would do it too. anyways, the best thing to do is what you did and take a step back let them adjust for a little while longer then you would normaly on a step, perhaps when you make a new "first" hole make it a bit smaller to begin with

With Comere (RB) we had managed to get all the way to toilet trained... problem was, he was never exceptionally coordinated at it. Quite often he'd poop on the edge of the seat, or his pee would trickle down the edge of the toilet. We ended up going back to the litter box.

I think you did the right thing taking a step back. Let them get used to that for a while again. Good luck and keep us posted!

Aw, thanks everyone!
We're going to stay back on the last step for about a week. We're going to try to take things slowly.

I read an article in a UK newspaper yesterday about a lady in Australia who has invented a cat toliet seat..... I also found the website yesterday, but can't find it today

I just googled and come up with quite a few other sites, these two look helpful - How to toilet train your cat and Cat seat etc. There's tonnes out there and I am sure you will get some help from one of these sites as well as other ppl on this site who have toilet trained their cat!

Good luck
