i have a Manx mix Cat that is a rescue. She is preg. I have felt babies move for about a week+. She has really gotten big the past week as well. I haven't noticed any milk tho. When does this happen? I am keeping her in so she won't have them in the woods. She has been in for about 5 days now and just wondering how much longer

Any help out there?
thanks,

My very first post to this board was to ask the same question. I hadn't been able to express any milk, and was wondering when that would happen. Within a few hours we had kittens, so, my answer would be, "sometimes the mother doesn't get milk until after she delivers."

Good luck - let us know the progress!!

Thanks! I would think she would be having them any day. She ate fine today tho... She just seems to eat and sleep the past week.

OH MY 8 ??!!!!!!! I am hoping for just 2 or 3.

My father in law took her preg sister this past week, thank goodness! Don't know what I would do with 2 litters.

The time the milk comes in varies from cat to cat, sometimes they don't have milk up until the last day. All the best for your cat and keep us posted. I hope you plan on getting her desexed after the babies.

It really is difficult for humans to express milk from cats so don't let that be your guide

She will definately be spayed when this is all over !!!

I haven't tried to express milk, but just looking to see if she looked puffy around there. Maybe cats don't get puffy like dogs do....this is my first cat.

Do all cats quit eating for 24 hours before delivery? Last night she went upstairs and got under my sons bed...I thought maybe she was ready, but no luck. She hasn't got in the box in the closet I set up for her. It is a spare bedroom and I leave the closet door open, it is the most quiet spot in the house. I put her food and water in there as well.
Gee, I am a nervous mom. I was hoping to see her have them and let the kids watch some since we won't have this chance again...EVER.....
