I really hope this is the place for this question...

My Kitty is 6 weeks old. She is going to be an inside Cat. I do not want to declaw her. I have heard about this method where you glue a plastic nail over teh cats real nail. Has anyone heard about this? If so is it truly effective? What anbout the cost....is it expensive?

That's called soft paws, the website is here .

I used it on my cats a few time. It worked okay, they came off mine fairly fast though and I I found trimming their nails to be just about as effective.

I personally don't know about the plastic claw tips but I enjoy cutting my kitties claws. Start cutting your kitties claws really early so she gets used to it.

That's what I tried, but CJ's first vet visit was for a nail trimming, and apparently she remembers it! If she's sees the trimmers on the counter, she freaks out! I have to put them away in a drawer. There was one time, when she was pregnant, that I got to do it...... she was dead asleep! I clipped one paw, and then she started to wake up, and get irritated, and so I only was able to clip one.

Here's a site that I found online...... Click here

And here's one that has a picture of where to clip. Be sure not to clip into the quick..... Click here

I've heard a lot of people who use and like the soft paws. I just clip my cats claws once a month. They are pretty tolerant of it. I've never had a problem with them clawing at anything but their cat tree either. I even have a leather chair in my living room and they never touch that. Guess I've been lucky!

One trick I use is I wrap my cats up tight in a towel like you would swaddle a new born baby. Then I pull out one paw at a time to trim the nails. You have to wrap them tight though, from head to toe with just their little face poking out!
