First Room Remodeled!!Before/After pics.

Hey Guys and Gals!! As some of you may know, I recently purchased a home!!! Well, I promised some before/after pics while I'm remodeling. Can you believe, with all the time I spend on TCS that I've finished my first room in one month???? This is one of the downstairs bedrooms. This is gonna be our treadmill/weight room. Here you go:
Before: I don't know if you can tell, but the room was a dark mauve with a hideous border at top. The closet doors and trim are a yucky pink color. The carpet is the office-type berber



After: I picked a "southwestern" theme to the room. The walls are a dusty cocoa in a textured paint. The floors are hardwood parquet with a ceramic tile mosaic. The trim is an off white color. I done a majority of the work myself and I'm quite proud.

Now, I'm getting started on our formal living room!!! More to come...

That room looks great! I love the wall color and especially the hardwood with the tiles.

Thanks Sam!!! So sweet of you to say so!!The next room is a bit bigger so it will take longer but it will get there. I'm pretty proud of it, this is what I've been doing since I've been off work!

Very nice Kelly. The floor looks so carefully done too.

Wow, very, very nice! It would never have occured to me to mix tile with parquet, but it works! Good job!

Kelly you've done a fabulous job! i have to say i prefer the new colour you have on the walls because i'm not one for dark or bright colours.

When i bought this house the previous owners had the kitchen painted orange on the bottom and bright green on the top Everyone who came before it was re decorated thought it was lovely and fresh but it wasn't me

i just keep it simple with white in our appartments, but i saw in some appartments around here a real nice peachy colour but like bright peach, and i so love it!
Of course though the colour of walls has to suit furnitures and the colour i want does not!

That room looks great! i wonder how the rest of the house is going to be!!!

Most excellent job you've done there! Doesn't it make you feel good to be able to say "I did that!"

"One" of my summer projects is starting on an extension to the deck as I want a spa, but I have to have somewhere to put it first.

Kelly, that tiled floor is GORGEOUS and the faux finish on the walls looks excellent!
