OKay ... LILO is my female cat that is pregnant. She is not due until around mothers day. But this past Thursday when I came home from work she was in my driveway and I started to rub her big ol' belly and then she flopped over as usual so I could rub a little further down when I noticed what I thought at the time to be dry blood on her wee- wee. I thought she had started her labor. Which came to be not true at all. I took her to the vet yesturday and he could not get a stool sample to test her. But he did give her 2 pills for worms (which he said he does not think it is). And he started her on ALBON which my younger kitten is still on for COCCIDIA (he had it when I bought him).

I worry so much b/c I can see her 3rd eyelid. And I know this means she does not feel well. What do I do? Does anyone think the kitten (which she is much more comfortable with) makes her feel like her kittens will be unsafe? So many ?'s in my mind. I love my LILO girl with all of my
. She is my little angel. I am so worried about her. Please anyone with advice ... throw it at me.

It is very hard to say, it could be so many things. Did the vet even address the dried blood you saw? It could be that she's a having a problem with the pregnancy. The best thing to do is keep her inside, and keep a close eye on her for any changes.

If she and the other kitten ae using the same litter box she could have contracted the COCCIDIA as well. It is very contagious. I would also keep her inside at all times as pregnant cats will often hide their babies under houses or some other inaccessable place. She is also a target for dogs, ferel cats, cars, and possible poisoning outside your home.

Okay.. I took her to the vet again today. The vet says her rear end doesn't look as red and raw as Saturday when he saw her. But she still has loose stool and her 3rd eyelid!!
She has been on oral ALBON since Saturday and he went ahead and gave her an ALBON shot today.
I am worried about her b/c I asked him if she is ok and he said no she isnt b/c he is very worried with the way her eyes look. (Her 3rd eyelid just about covers half of her eye)!!!!
Any advice????????

I do not know your vet, but going by what my vets would have done....she should have an xray or ultrasound to check the babies, a fecal float to know for sure what if any parasites she has, and some possible bloodwork to check her liver/kidney function.

If you have to, I would collect your own sample and bring it in. The idea of "guessing" on whats going on is a little scary to me.
