Full moon, an hour before
dawn, and the sudden tinkle
of someone's cell phone
twinkles under the humid
canopy of frog-murmur and
wing-sputter. May I never
be stricken immune to the
wonder of this kitten curled
in my arms, his soft breath
a sleeping meditation and
a testimony to the tiny
psalm of peace seeding this
moment. Like the pinprick
of a star licking the dark-
ness. Look can you see it?
