I am trying to post a link to the web nursery pics of my granddaughter. I hope it works!http://www.growingfamily.com/webnurs...LID=5Z5H2B9F1C
She is adorable, and we love her so much. I hated to leave to come home. She was born on Monday, by C-section, as the cord was wrapped twice around her neck. Mom and baby are fine and healthy, and I am still bouncing off the walls!

I just spoke with my daughter, and she said Olivia's first doctor's appointment went well. They were still concerned about the cord having been wrapped around her neck, so they saw her sooner than normal. She is perfect! She has been very alert since she was born, and trying to hold her head up. The doc said she has unusually neck strength for a newborn, so it was not just wishful thinking. I was holding her up to burp her at 2 days old, and she kept holding her head back and looking me right in the eye. I have heard that newborns don't smile, but even though it was just reflexive and learning to use her brand new muscles, I got a pic of her smiling. I hope I caught it, anyway. They put the phone to her ear when I called, and she looked around and made little squeaky noises. I hope she remembers me between visits.
Pearl's brother, Cotton, has become her guardian. He sleeps at the foot of the bassinet, and when he is awake, he sits next to it with his paws on the side and gazes at her. He gives her little feet kitty loves, but does not try to get around her face. He is a big, normally ornery cat, so I am really surprised that he is so taken with her. The other cat, Minky, checked her out, but doesn't want much to do with her. I got a pic of Minky checking her out for the first time. I am not a very good photographer, so I am crossing my fingers that my pics will turn out.
I am still just bouncing off the walls!

I have to laugh because i was trying to view the other pictures by pressing the arrow to view the "next" pictures, and I guess my computer froze for a sec, so i kept clicking it, and all of a sudden all at once it clicked through the pictures really fast when my comp caught up and it looked like she was doing some sweet dance moves!!! haha, you should try it!!!

Yeah, we tried it out, and laughed our butts off. In addition to being a cutie, she's a dancin' fool!
I thought the pic with the tongue out and the middle finger raised was hilarious. There are 2 in there with the middle finger raised, and another one that I took. Do you think she's trying to tell us something?

Movin' on up!
Welcome to the grandma club!

She does look remarkably alert. C-section babies aren't all squished up, though.

A tip from one grandma to another: when she's older, give her chocolate and then go home

Olivia is a little sweetheart!
So lovely that she has a kitty guardian, too. Critters know as well as any of us about the young of the species -- some (like Minky) don't want to trust these unpredictable little ones; others (like Cotton) are suckers for the little people and know just how to be gentle and vigilant. I'll bet she's got a friend for life there. Congratulations, Gramma!

Olivia is gorgeous! Congratulations to the "beaming" Gramdma. My daughter was married last July and became pregnant in December. However, she lost the baby. That was sad enough and hard to deal with, but now she is moving 1500 miles away. Who knows how often I will see my grandbabies when they are born.
