He's warming up

Dear Friends at CatSite, thanks for the help. Simon came out of hiding early yesterday morning. He is still skittish but he is beginning to feel comfortable with us petting him. Our other female cat has been sniffing at him and hasn't reacted in an adverse way so it probably won't take as long as I expected for Simon to fit in with the family. I tried several of your suggestions. They worked. Simon is still scared of loud sounds and sudden movements but I believe this will fade in time as he grows accustome to his new territory and accommodations. It took 4 days for him to just come out of hiding. The trick is to be patient and understanding, and not to try to rush things. Thanks.
