As many of you know, I mentioned in an earlier thread that I am moving soon. I have purchased some feliway diffusers to help my kitties in the transition and now I have to get some other things to keep them safe.
There is one room that I need to keep them out of. There are two archways into this room so I was thinking of getting like a baby gate to put up. I found a couple I like but here's the thing.... I have a small gate up at my house now (29 in high) and they just jump it or climb it.
Can anyone suggest to me ways to keep them off of it?
I saw these scat mats on the internet but I am scared to use that since it said something about giving the cats a shock?? I don't want to hurt my kitties!!!
So if you could please give me some suggestions, I would be greatful!!

We actually picked up several regular sized baby gates at BJ's and stacked them 2-high in the doorway and it worked excellently!! The only thing is if you need to get back into that room you will have to take one down to climb over.

Oh thank you!!! I never thought of that. What a smart idea. I am going to see if I can get some baby gates from like goodwill maybe.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I am going crazy trying to figure out what to do.
The one doorway is 41 in. across and the other one is 28 1/2 across.

you can also put the baby gates vertically - depending on what type of opening you are trying to block

That would work for that bigger opening. I guess I need them high since they are jumping over the one I have up now.
Anyone have an opinion about that scat mat thing?
