Milo has these spells where I think he literally wants to kill Spyder, and I pretty much try not to have them 2 shut in the same room together because of that. Well last evening I started hearing this terrible cat fight coming from my bedroom (the door was shut) so I ran up there somehow Milo must have gotten into the room when I left it about 10 minutes before.

So I go to get Spyder out of Milo's way because Milo isn't very close right then but as soon as I touch Spyder to move him Milo uses that second to lunge at Spyder and take a bite....only he gets my finger instead!
Right away my finger starts bleeding, puffing up and getting bruised looking.

After I get them seperated I spend the next 3 hours in the ER. They gave me intervienous antibiotics and a tetenous shot. OUCH!

But the worst part is we will probably have to take Milo to a no-kill shelter (which I really don't want to do) because we thnk he'd be better off in a one cat house. Out of all of our kitties, he only gets along with Chuckie and Francine, Spyder he wants to kill and the other girls he never stops picking on!

Oh, Diane, this is awful!
Your poor finger! You did the right thing going to the ER to receive prompt care for your injury. Although Milo didn't mean to hurt you, it's quite painful just the same.
Poor Milo, wonder why he feels he needs to behave in this manner. This is a difficult decision you are having to make. I know you will make the best choice for Milo and your entire family.

I'm with you, Diane. George for whatever reason started picking on Mama probably a couple of months ago. He chases the others but they are not really afraid of him, but Mama gets all puffy and growls and that makes him even more aggresive. I hope Spyder and Milo get their differences worked out. I'm going to try to go back to basics and see if I can lure mine into a calm setting with treats this weekend and have a dual petting session.

Thanks Maverick kitten, Stephanie and Chris.

This has been going on for almost a year now. It's not constant though, but I'm just very afraid that one or the other is going to get seriously hurt. Last month I had to pull a couple of Milo's claws (the shell part) out of Spyder's neck after Milo attacked him. I guess maybe it wouldn't be as bad if Spyder just ran away like the other kitties do, but I guess they both want Alpha status!

I was starting to get hopeful too, because a few weeks back, I had the window open because it was a very warm day and they were sitting next to each other calmly for a few minutes.

Chris your George kind of looks like Milo in your siggy.

Oh Diane, so sorry to hear this.....what a shame. Don't you just want to be able to sit our kits down and ask them what the problem is and why can't we all just get along? I hope something happens where you can keep Milo, but it does sound like a battle for alpha status.

Sorry to hear you got hurt during the fight.
I'm also sorry for Milo. Does he have to go?

Joji and Skinny were like Milo and Spyder. It took more than a year before things settled down. Oh, well.

Thanks Susie!

Wouldn't it be great if our kitties could talk through their differences?!

It's definately not what I want but it's been almost a year now and I don't see Milo mellowing. Don't get me wrong, Milo is a sweetie when he wants to be!
But I know it's just too much stress on him and the other kitties to be doing any of them good.

We have tried something similar to rescue remedy last summer, I don't think it made too much of a difference though. Haven't tried Feliway yet though.
