The land of furry kitties
I've noticed the first thing I do when I wake up, and when I get home is take inventory of my babies. When I can't find one of them, I begin tearing apart cabinets, closets, etc. Somehow I just can't do anything unless I know my kitties are whole and accounted for. Does anyone else have this addiction?

Oh my goodness yes, your not alone! I don't do anything else if all 3 don't meet me at the door. I go on a search and find mission! I do that before I leave too. I have to literally see all 3 before I go.

Yup, I'm the same way. If they're not ON the bed right before I start falling asleep, I start wondering where they are, and even get out of bed to make sure they're both accounted for. I also like to make contact with them before I leave and kiss them and say goodbye before I head off into the world!

they all (2 cats and a dog) come running when they hear the ice cube dispenser on the fridge go off, so it's like roll call...

No. Every night, I kiss my daughter good night, and they are in bed with her, awaiting their kisses. Every morning, when my son's alarm rings, Gar jumps in bed with him to cuddle. Basically, if I know where the kids are, I know where the cats are!

We have occasionally "lost" someone, but they generally come when called, so I'm pretty lucky.

Oh yes, our Petals and Oliver would have had beautiful kitties, wouldn't they? Do you have any more pics you can share?

I have to take inventory several times a day. Diddy likes to slip into closets and the fridge when you open them so she gets shut up in them all the time. Diddy gets stuck in the corner behind Shy's arcade game, too. She's always getting herself stuck in some weird spot.

I just make sure they are in the house or garage-sometimes I forget that Ox is in the garage-he likes sitting in the window-he can't sit in the windows in the house!!

I call it the "Cat Count".

I do it every night before I head upstairs to put my daughter & myself to bed. If K.C. isn't already on the pillow & Jessie on 'her' corner of the bed, and Snickers isn't dragging his catnip sock up the stairs, and Zorro & Hammie aren't on our heels... and Dusty, well, she is just always up everyone's butt anyway... I will go in a feverish search until they are all accounted for!

The Cat Count!

Oh and if someone holds the door open too long and I'm in another room (friends visiting my daughter or my neighbor bringing more flowers for me!)... I will perform a Cat Count. Must get to 6 before I can go about my business.

The other morning at feeding time I only had 5... I panicked... turns out, Emmy was woke up by me making noise getting ready so she shut her door... with Dusty in there WITH HER! Poor Dusty was at the door and couldn't get out (unlike Hammie she cannot turn doorknobs... she's too short). So I panic and run upstairs with her plate of food thinking something's gotta be wrong! There's Emmy's door shut and when I open it, Dusty comes barrelling out.

Cosmo greet me at the door, so I don't look for him when I come home, but I DO sporadically look for him during the day if he isn't in the room with me. He also loves to find hiding spots where he thinks we won't look. His new one is behind the couch.

So yes, though Cosmo is an only cat, I seek to find his butt if I don't know where it is

At the kitty's beck and call
Oh yes absolutely - I have to know where they are
. One night Lily didn't come to bed after guarding the stairs and looking out the window - so I had to put every light on in the house whilst I searched for her
. She'd gone to sleep in the coat cupboard downstairs - in my winter hat

YUP I do a cat count of my cats all the time. MOst of the time it's easy cuz they like to be either NEAR or ON me.

There have been several occasions where I couldn't find 1 or several of my cats and I'd FREAK out looking all over for them until I find them!

Totally!! I always have to know where they are. Especially after I wake up if they are not in the bed but usually they are on my pillow. I even look for them during the day if they aren't in my view.
Glad to know I am not the only one that does this!!!
