open an envelope without causing damage to it? I know that I've read it here before but I can't find the thread.

I went the doctor today and she told me that she sould tell the sex of the baby but I was undecided on knowing. She wrote it down and closed the envelope so I went to see my husband with it and he just laughed at me and said it was up to me.

I decided that I want to know but I don't want him to know that I know because I really don't think that he wants to know.

HELP!!!!!!!

Here's a trick I've heard about, but never tried.

Put the envelope in the freezer for a while. When the glue freezes you should be able to open it without damaging the envelope at all. Not sure if you can re-seal it though...but a small bit of glue would do the trick.

Aw, let it be a surprise for yourself darlin. I didn't know the sex of my baby, til the moment of truth. I tell ya it was THE coolest, sweetest, and most memorable surprise of my entire life! Nothing will ever top it!

Boy or Girl? Who cares as long as the baby is healthy... but I do tell ya if you don't know, then after all that pain and labor... just the sheer gift of knowing if you have a son or daughter is worth the wait.

Plus people were placing money on my pregnancy, like 80% of the people thought I was having a boy and 20% thought I was having a girl.

Someone somewhere said that when a woman is pregnant with a boy, her butt gets big. Little did people know, I already had a big butt. Hah!

So I had a Girl. And what a surprise!

Well, I didn't find out with my oldest one.......a boy! But this time, I'm high-risk and have to take daily injections in my stomach twice a day which are EXTREMELY painful so I thought, it would be nice for me to know one good thing now.

You know, I still really don't know.....I'm still on the fence - should I or shouldn't I?

Maybe I should make a poll!

Ok, it's been in there for well over an hour - maybe even close to 2 hours.

Nothing is happening......maybe I'm not supposed to know!?

My thoughts - are you starting out your married life keeping secrets from your husband? Now there's a recipe for disaster!

If (when) he finds out, his trust in you will be compromised. Trust is something that is difficult to get back once it's lost.

Talk it over with him and be up front that you really want to know (if you do), why you want to know, and that it doesn't mean he has to know if he doesn't want to. But be honest with him from the start.

There is no way you can know and not let it slip that you know. Decide if you want to know or not, and tell dh!
I didn't know with my first because it was before routine ultrasounds. But I was glad to know for the last 3. Gives you time to plan, shop, pick a name. And if it's early, they might be wrong!?!
I didn't know you were preggers. Congratulations, Catherine!

Well, for the record, the freezer does not work!

Oh well. I've decided that I'm going to ask him to open it tonight and if he won't - I will then I'm going to seal it back and hand it to him!
That way if he still doesn't want to know, he won't!

It's not too hard for me because I'm still on the fence. Who knows, by tonight I might change my mind again and if I do, I'm going outside with it to burn it! I'm soooooo confused!

But, if I do open it I'll have to decide if I'm going to post it here because I do know that I'm not going to tell my family.

Oh the drama!!!!!!!

BTW - I'm not against bribes....or bibs, I'll take both!
