Wow! See what happens when I don't check in- you guys have already booked your flights!

First of all, before this happens Anne's kids need to be in school and less dependant on mom. She was supposed to come and meet me this year, but she got pregnant and well the rest is sort of history. We have tossed around the idea of a TCS Convention, with the emphasis being on cat welfare seminars and maybe a cat show nearby to attend- but that is all it has progressed to, thinking and wishful thinking. Life has a way of stopping plans sometimes. So I wouldn't book your tickets just yet, because if it is going to happen, it won't be for a few more years. It is nice to think about, all of us in one general spot meeting and greeting for the first time, but the logistics are pretty staggering, and we have to remember we are a world-wide community, and face it, our illustrious leader lives in Israel........so...Plus the cost is something to consider, not only everyone getting there, but booking the convention center, the hotel, planning events, lining up speakers.....She didn't want this to be just a party, she wanted it to have meaning, and also be an education for all who would attend. So don't shut the door on the dream just yet, but try not and call your travel agents until more can be figured out-

Good idea guys. MA and Anne's ideas are great, but it will take time for how they want to do it, so in the mean time, have smaller lunches or something in your own area....

MA, when you say a "few more years", approximately how many are we talking?

Susie, I don't know. It won't be for 3-4 years or even more more than likely for a BIG convention. There is to much to factor in right now, and so there is no committment as to an actual date. We were thinking of doing it around a big anniversary for the board- maybe the 10 year anniversary, as we are now approaching our 5th year. And don't worry if you move on, we have the ability to reach out and touch the older members to see if they are interested.

Oh wow! A convention, I would so do my very best to be there, honest! Look, likewise being a poor college student, everyone in Texas should rent a van and ride together, makes it cheaper on gas, and we could binge on junk food the whole way and brag about our furkids!! All Texans; Let me know!!

And about making in the meantime, a few meetings out on our own, regional ones? You see, one of the ideas I've toyed with a bit, is that next time I take a trip to Florida (my most likely destination within N. America) try to make some get together or meetup of members in the American Southeast where we can all enjoy.

Of course, I don't have any plans right now of a trip to the states, so I am not placing any dates or specific plans, but its an idea that we can certainly consider... like what Katie (TNR1) is doing in the DC area.

The tenth anniverssary sounds like a great idea! Even I will be able to attent - the kids will be old enough to travel to the US (right now I don't think a trans-atlantic flight with two toddlers would be much fun...). Anywhere in the US is fine with me, as long as there are some nice tourists attractions in the area
lots of theme parks is good!

I was just quoting you like I was agreeing. "Something" could mean anything like breakfast or dinner... or bowling.... yeah... bowling... That's the ticket!
