I rescued a cat today!!! (with pictures)

Hi! Everyone at my work knows how big of an animal lover I am, so they called me when they found a little kitty running around the detail shop of the car dealership I work at. I, of course, came running. They held him in a back room until I could get there.

When I arrived, from outside the window I could see this sweet little tabby, with white patches, sitting in the window-sill shivering! I hurried in there with my cat carrier and realized that the air conditioning vent was blowing straight on him---that's why he was shivering! Bless his heart! He was as sweet as could be! I got out a food dish and some of Juicy's hard food and he attacked it like he hadn't eaten in days! I also noticed that he had some missing fur and a little blood behind his ears, which I assumed were from ear mites (which turned out to be correct). I let him eat half the bowl, then I placed it in the carrier and he walked straight in and let me shut it. I took him straight to the humane society and they were expecting me. I paid the surrender fee and they took him from there. He will be in quarantine for about a week and then will be up for adoption. I'll keep an eye on him and if he isn't adopted, I will pay the fee so they can give him away "TO GOOD HOME ONLY". I am so happy that he is safe and will be happy now. He is a very good boy.

Here are a couple pictures of him. How old do you all think he is? My guess was from 7 months to a year old, but I'm not sure. These pictures were taken by me at the shelter. He is a lot smaller than he looks in the pictures...

The second is blurry because he was walking up to investigate the camera

They named him "Wonka" . Please send good vibes his way for a speedy adoption to a very good home (or a return to his original home)!!!

Looks like he needs to be neutered. Hope they will do that for him. Did they check him for a microchip?

That's one of the first things I noticed!!! I will be making sure he is neutered. If someone pays the adoption fee, then the neutering comes with that---and if no one adopts him and his time is running out, then I will pay the adoption fee and make sure he is neutered...that's for sure!!!

I'm not sure if they checked for a chip yet, but I will be asking when I call/go in tomorrow!

I wish I could keep him, but I already have Juicy and a ferret, I still live with my parents and they have a dog...so our house is full as far as they are concerned.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! He really is a beautiful cat!

I called and spoke to a lady about Wonka today and she said he is doing great!!! They got rid of the ear mites and he is getting along very well. I will be going in to see him on Monday. If he is not claimed by his owner (which I doubt he will be since I am pretty sure he was abandoned by them in the first place) he will be available for adoption on Wednesday (the mandatory 8 day quarantine there).
