Well, I have been in my current apt for 2 years now. My gas bill is about $200 a month because the windows are so crappy. 2 mts after I had signed another year lease last year my landlord bigtime ticked me off then I was stuck!!! My electricity went out and he didn't send someone over for 2 days! Then the guy he sent over started keying into my apartment without even telling me. I got up and flew to the door. I was fuming!!!
Then, the guy tells me he's there to look at the electricity but he's not an electrician so he will do the best he can. He continued talking and I am still
Anyway, he proceeds to tell me that he just got out of jail!!! ::censor::censor::censor:: I went and spoke to a lawyer but he said there was pretty much nothing I could do. I told my landlord that if he or anyone else better never enter my apt again without my permission. He said he was sorry and agreed. Since then, I have been searching hard for something else. I am sooooo miserable here. To be honest, the only thing I worry about is my kitties. I don't want anyone in here when I am not home and I want my kitties to be safe.
Now for the good news. My mom's boyfriend (Mark) said I could rent his grandma's house. She passed away years ago and there's been no one in there. Soooooo, I am renting it for $400 a month. It's so nice inside. Huge living room, huge kitchen, nice bedroom, walk in attic upstairs (but I am not going to use that), sliding glass door into an enclosed patio outside and it's right across from a beautiful golf course. Plus, I will finally have a washer and dryer again!!!!!
Since I had moved in here, I had to keep taking my laundry down to my mom's which has been a pain in the butt! I am going down to help him clean out some things in the house the end of this week and he needs to put a new door up on the one entrance. I should be moving in within the next couple weeks!
I really hope this all goes smoothly for me. So please, please, please say some prayers for me that everything goes alright. I would really appreciate it.
I am worried about my kitties having to change environments but hopefully they will be ok with it. My mom is going to let me borrow her kennel (it's for a greyhound dog) to keep them in until I get things settled at the house. I don't want anything to happen to my kids while the doors are open and such.
SOrry for such a long post!
Please send good vibes our way!!
Thanks,
Aimee, Salem and Spook

Thank you so much!!! How did your move go? Are you all settled in?
Ugh, isn't that unreal??? I was so stressed out. Since then I have been nervous everytime I am away from home. What a bad feeling. It will be nice not having to feel like that anymore.

Thanks for the good vibes, I really appreciate it!!!

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Wonderful, how exciting, Aimee!
This is a fantastic change for you! You will surely be much happier in this home, and your babies will love it once they are used to it! You may want to get a Feliway diffuser. It will help them with the transition. It works wonders for Sierra!
Just plug it in where your babies wil be spending most of their time a while before you transfer them. Wonder if you would consider keeping them in one room with the door closed while you move everything in. This will be most comfortable for them, don't you think? You can set up the room with their water, food, and litter box, and leave objects from your present appt around, cloths, blankets, toys, etc. for comfort. Just a thought.

I'm so happy for you, this is going to be a delightful change for the better!

Thank you so much!! I am nervous but excited at the same time. I hate moving but I know it will be better for us. I want to be in the safest possible place I can be with my babies. I know that I won't have to worry about someone coming in since Mark wouldn't do that. Plus he is a plumber by trade so when things need fixed, I won't have to worry about some idiot coming in! That alone is worth alot to me.
Yeah, I could do that. I could put them in the bedroom. I will go down this weekend and make sure there are no places they can get into that they could get hurt and I will get one of those feliway diffusers. Thanks for the suggestions! The day I move in, I will put their toys and their favorite blankie in there so they can relax.
Can't wait to get settled in. I don't like change but I really believe this one is for the best for all of us. IT'S ALL ABOUT MY BABIES!!!

You're welcome. It went pretty well, but I moved straight from home, which I was familliar with, so it did take a while to settle in, but I had a blast!!. I don't blame you for being nervous about being away from your babies, I was too, especially because I am away from my babies, and they were threatened to be put in the pound!
but that wont happen to you and I am sure it will ease, and you will have fun and enjoy yourself too

Good luck with your move, it sounds like a much better arrangement. I just moved in February and my 7 cats are pretty much "at home" now, they have at least taken up most of my boyfriends bed, 5 of the 7 sleep with me. And since I moved in I have 4 brand new kittens.
Hope the weather will be better for you than it looks like it was this weekend (all the snow)

I am just so anxious to move into my new home!! I am going down there this weekend to kitten-proof everything.

Yesterday I went to leave my apt and this idiot girl was parked behind my car crooked! There is a whole parking lot behind the house I live in and I thought, ::censor::censor::censor:: I seen her walking out of the neighbor's house and I told her she couldn't park behind me for cryin out loud. She said she just came to drop something off and I said, it doesn't matter, you blocked me in, you cannot do that. Anyway, then later that evening, I look out my back window and see these people pull up in a truck and dump their garbage in our dumpsters!!!
People are just unreal. I came in to get my shoes on because of course I was going to tell him off and get his plate and when I came back out, he was gone. Go figure.
All the more reason I cannot wait to get out of here!!!!

To top it off, I was in the bathroom washing my hands and noticed that my old crappy sink is leaking now!

COME ON MOVING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fine time to move!! Good luck with the packing and moving, and with moving the kits.
It's such a pain, but at the same time it's always such a new beginning it can be great!

I think you will be so happy moving!! Here in WI we have really good landlord/tenant law but way back I did have a crummy landlady-We think she was coming in and snooping when we weren't home. You will really like the house. I hope your move goes well.
