What size carrier???

I will be getting my new kitten next weekend. The drive back will be about six hours. Most of the carriers that I see are only about 10 inches in width at the most, isn't this too small in width? My other cat's carrier is 15 inches in width (which I can't find anymore to get another one). What is an appropriate size carrier for a long ride home?

This is a good size, you can fit a small litter pan in the rear if the carrier just incase they need it.

i made the mistake of getting a kitten carrier. i soon needed to swap it for a cat carrier as they grow up fast! get the biggest you can comfortably carry and afford.
