I just had to share

As I've mentioned since we brought Cosmo home in March he is an affectionate kitty - but not really a lap kinda-guy. My daughter and I have been trying to judge when he'll tolerate a few minutes in our laps and picking him up and giving him pettin's. He usually only puts up with that for a short time. He'd much rather flop on the floor, expose his belly, and let you come to him.

Even when he comes up on the bed he usually finds his spot down by my feet (or exactly one foot out of reach) and flops down.

But last night he came right up into my armpit, flopped and rolled. He ended up all stretched out on his back, with his head next to my hip and his rear legs up in my armpit - and I was able to pet him on his belly and side. And he stayed there a good 1/2 hour! It made me SOOOOOOO happy!!!

Cosmo is great - he's affectionate, likes to greet me at the door when I come home, loves to give head butts and likes to be pet, and is ecstatic about playing... but I was missing the way Comere (RB) was such a mushpot lap-cat. It was so nice to have Cosmo give me some of that last night

Isn't that such a great feeling? I can only imagine how much your heart swelled since it was the *first* time Cosmo did that. I just know how much my heart swells every time Trent comes up for snuggles.

That is so awesome!!!!
I know what you mean, my jess didn't used to be a lap kitty. After some time (years actually) she started to lay in my lap and slept on my pillow at night. I loved it!!!
I am so happy to hear your news. That is soooooo wonderful!!!

That's lovely!! It's so hard to let them take their time about that, isn't it, but when they venture the real snuggle for the first time, there's just nothing to describe that feeling, is there? So special.

Thanks so much everyone - it really did make my night
He did it again last night, but not for nearly as long. I think there may be a lapcat inside him dying to get out

And yes - my heart SWELLED with joy - that was a great way to put it!
