My cat has been licking her behind (so I thought) for the past 6 months (just after her being spayed) and now she's a year old. Well today as I took her out on her leash, I noticed how she had some colouring on her behind. I picked her up (she was scared) and I saw how at her vagina opening there was some green (light colouring) sticky substance.
I let her in and sure enough when I checked again, it was gone. I have not noticed this until now because she was too scared to lick herself outside. She always does this and I thought maybe she had a weak bladder because she'd do this when she was excited. I didn't think there was much too it because I would check and of course nothing ever showed until now.
It has only happened since she was spayed and now I'm wondering if something wasn't done right. How do I find out without accusing the vets? Or should I be? I don't want to jump to conclusions, but after this finding, shouldn't this be scary???

Please help....

Your best bet is to take her to the vet and tell them what you saw. You don't have to point fingers at them. Just let them know she's cleans herself 'a lot' and you saw the green sticky stuff on her and you are worried about what it is. Good luck.

You do not have to accuse the vet, but I would recommend that you take her in and have this checked out. If it is determined that they missed something or this problem is in some other way their fault, you don't have to be ugly about it, just insist they fix the problem and ask nicely that they do not charge you for it.
