I've always been curious about cat grass, so today on a whim I picked some up..but now what do I do with it?

does she just nibble on it or am I supposed to cut it off for her? The packaging said something about keeping it in the refridgerator to make it last longer...is that true??

Do I leave it in its original container?

You shouldn't have to cut it off, but I suppose you'd have to if you refrigerated it. I've never heard that suggestion. I'd just put it on a table or windowsill and let her nibble on it (we keep a pot of it on our coffee table). You can leave it in the original container, though that might be so light that she could knock it over.
I'd say leave it in the original container on a table, and see how she does with it.

Ok, good cuz that is basically what I did with it-haha!

I just stuck the original container into a clean empty flower pot so she cant knock it over and so far she has just spent a lot of time pawing the grass :-)

It's awful how much they charge for such tiny containers. I bought 5# of rye seed for a couple of dollars, some potting soil, a couple of aluminum casserole pans, and made "cat grass" with that. Depending on how much your cat likes to "graze" I can see that 5 pounds lasting a couple of years!
