Question about editing pictures in the computer...

I am trying to edit a picture of a photograph from color into black and white. Now, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the digitalization of a XIX century document taken in from the historical archives of my city. But when I try to print it in Black and White what I get is a grayish blur. I want to put it like a photocopy… anyone knows how to do that?

Try converting to B&W before printing? I just quickly experimented with that, and found that reducing the colour saturation as far as possible (-100) produced an excellent B&W, which then printed very clearly. Of course, it could be more about the original document than anything... Good Luck.
